Welcome to Empowerment Squared Liberia, home of the Liberian Learning Center, a beacon of hope, empowerment, and lifelong learning for generations to come.
Empowerment Squared Liberia is a registered organization in Liberia, dedicated to building a world where everyone is empowered with the tools and opportunities to thrive and contribute to society. We do this by empowering our communities to succeed through mentorship, access to post-secondary education, and professional skills development. Empowerment Squared Liberia is a realization of the vision of founder and CEO Leo Nupolu Johnson, a Liberian who fled his native country during civil war, grew up on refugee camps in Côte d’Ivoire and Ghana, eventually resettled as a refugee in Canada, and never gave up on his dream to help rebuild Liberia.
THE LIBERIAN LEARNING CENTER IS NOW OPEN!
The headquarters of Empowerment Squared Liberia is the transformational Liberian Learning Center (LLC) located in Paynesville, adjacent to Paynesville City Hall – a direct response to one of Liberia’s most strategic needs: educational infrastructure and resources.
Empowerment Squared is a thriving and dynamic family of program participants, staff, volunteers, partners, and community members who are working together to build a better world. Based in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, we work primarily in Southwestern Ontario and West Africa. Founded in 2007, Empowerment Squared has supported thousands of individuals and communities in Canada with dynamic programs and services such as the Ubuntu Athletic Centre, Homework Circle, the Southwestern Ontario Black Entrepreneurship Program, and more
