Since 2008, Empowerment Squared has turned community support, partnerships, donor gifts and thousands of volunteer hours into life-changing programs. Through innovation in education, sports, and the development of social skills we have empowered over 3,000 newcomer and racialized youth, families, and communities in Liberia, Canada and beyond. Through the power of learning and mentorship, we continue to help thousands more to recognize their abilities and realize their dreams.
As a responsive, community-based organization that is agile and adaptable to emerging community needs and innovations, we rely heavily on donations to facilitate improvements to program design, development and expansion. We are committed to accountability and have provided audited financial statements since our inception as a charity, and also widely distribute an annual report to inform and engage our stakeholders and hold ourselves responsible for performance.
Donating online is a simple, direct, and secure way to give. For one-time donations made online, your tax receipt will be sent by email immediately following the completion of your transaction. When you give a monthly gift, you’re choosing to stand alongside us to show children and communities who need our help that you’ll never stop caring. This ongoing support means we can forecast our support and continue to provide and expand programs and services. Each month (on the date of your choosing), we’ll withdraw your donation directly from your debit or credit card and put it straight to work. You can change or cancel your support at any time.
