The Liberian Association in Canada( LAC) Computer Training successfully completed Cohort 1 of its Basic Information Technology Training Program, equipping 75 underserved Liberian students with essential digital skills. Cohort 1 underwent eight weeks of intensive training, led by IT professionals from The Liberian Learning Center (LLC). To maximize learning outcomes, each student was provided with access to high-speed laptops and Starlink-powered internet, ensuring seamless connectivity throughout the program.

Sponsored by LAC and implemented by Rosetta Steps Education Center, this initiative provided public school students from underprivileged families across Liberia with foundational IT training, preparing them for academic and professional success.

Designed to go beyond basic technical instruction, this program combines mentorship, structured learning, and hands-on application, ensuring students develop career-enhancing digital skills that set them apart in an increasingly tech-driven world.

The challenges participants faced—and the supportive team guiding them—helped bridge critical gaps in digital literacy and access for young people from equity-deserving communities.

Cohort 1 began training in March 2025 and successfully completed its program in August 2025. Ongoing mentoring continues until the end of August, ensuring students receive additional guidance as they apply their newly acquired skills.
